SPSTC Swim Team Code of Conduct
Signing the Code of Conduct is a requirement for each swimmer before they will be allowed to swim in a meet.
SPSTC Swim Team Code of Conduct
As a member of the Hammerhead Swim Team, I agree to uphold the following standards:
1. Respect
-Treat coaches, teammates, and opponents respectfully in and out of the pool.
-Communicate courteously, showing positive and supportive behavior.
-Value the diversity and individual abilities of all team members.
-Be open to feedback from coaches and teammates and use it constructively.
2. Sportsmanship
-Compete with integrity, fairness, and honesty.
-Accept wins and losses graciously, always showing good sportsmanship.
-Encourage teammates, fostering a positive team environment.
3. Teamwork
-Support all teammates, working to create a cooperative and unified team.
-Share the responsibility for team success, respecting each person’s role.
4. Commitment and Effort
-Give your best effort in every practice and competition.
-Maintain a healthy attitude towards improvement and personal development.
-Set personal goals and work towards achieving them, while helping teammates with theirs.
5. Responsibility and Accountability
-Follow all team rules, including arrival times, uniform requirements, and conduct during events.
-Accept responsibility for your actions, both positive and negative.
-Stay accountable for personal behavior both on and off the pool deck.
6. Respect for Facilities
-Treat all facilities, equipment, and resources with respect.
-Clean up after yourself and ensure the pool area is left in good condition.
-Follow all pool rules.
-Be a good representative of the Hammerhead Swim Team at all times.
Please remember that our priority is safety in and out of the water.
Consequences for Violations: Failure to follow the code of conduct may result in consequences ranging from warnings to removal from meets and events, depending on the severity of the infraction and parents will be notified.
