2026 Coaching Staff
I apologize for another email, but I just realized that I never announced our amazing coaching staff for this year!! Everyone already knows all about our new head coach, David Wahlen. We also have nine assistant coaches this year who are ALL Hammerhead swimmers. Together, they have over 85 YEARS of Hammerhead experience!! Please check our website under "About" and "Coaches" (or click here) to read about each of our coaches and what they are excited about this summer! You can identify our coaches by their shirts - they will be trying to wear a Hammerhead t-shirt during all practices and they will have on a coaching polo during the meets (unless they are swimming).
Head Coach: David Wahlen
Assistant Coaches: Lily Graham, Liza Stallings, Madison Norris, Harper Sweeny, AJ Harris, Riley McNamee, Luke Dawson and Freddy Struppe
Stroke Clinics
Our coaches (including Coach David) also love to teach swim lessons and private stroke clinics. These sessions are arranged between the parent and the coach. Each coach has their contact information and price for swim lessons on the website under "About" and "swim lessons/stroke clinics". Please reach out them directly for more information.
Game time: The first two swimmers in each age group (shrimper, 7/8, 9/10 and 11 & up) who can tell me at practice which coach has an OLDER brother who is also on the swim team, will win a treat from the snack bar! Please encourage your kids to ask the coaches to figure this out instead of reading their bio's. We want them all to get to know the coaches!
Junior Coaches
If you have a swimmer who signed up to be a Junior Coach, please have them come to practice whenever they can help. They need to find an assistant coach or Coach David and identify themselves as a Junior Coach when they arrive. They will be directed on what to do from there!
Swimtopia
If you did NOT receive the alert today stating that we WILL have practice, then you are not going to receive important weather updates and more as the season goes on. Please download the swimtopia app and make sure your notifications are turned ON! If you want to add someone to your account, reply to this email with their name and email address and I can link them. They will receive an activation email to log in. DO NOT have them try to set up an account and then try to link to your account. Just trust me, it doesn't work that way.
